Hello! I’m Jason, a New York based actor and writer.
I started acting in the 5th grade when the faculty at my elementary school forced all the students to do a production of Peter Pan Jr. I’m happy to report that my acting career since then has been entirely voluntary! My career has taken me from the MA public school system to NYU Tisch where I received my BFA in Drama. It has taken me from the internationally touring, educational theater production of Terezin, to Radio City Music Hall as a cast member and co-writer of the musical/sketch comedy show The Reality Show: NYU.
Recently, I have performed Off-Broadway in Celine Song’s Family at LaMama ETC, I wrote, directed, and performed my one-person show Just a Moment at the IRT Theater (pictured on this page), and I directed and acted in Houselives at the Gene Frankel Theater. This production was awarded “Best One Act Play” and I was awarded “Best Director.” I’m excited to report there is a professional recording of the show, on the way!
This is the last half of the big bio so I can get really serious with you for a second. An importatnt trait of mine is that I’m a really sensitive guy. Please don’t laugh. Come on. I just told you I’m sensitive and you’re laughing at me? For a long time I thought this was a hinderence but I have learned to embrace it as a gift. This makes me perfect for roles like:
Gifted Kid who feels like his gift is a hinderence
Open Hearted Lover
Emotionally Scarred Young Man
Socially Anxious Comedic Relief
Introverted Curious Thinker Who Loves to Read Books
Andrew Garfield
Other important things: I’m learning the guitar, I love to photograph landscapes and animals, and I recently fostered a kitten off the street who now has a forever home in Boston. His name is Doodle-Doo.
